The gamepad axis has been fixed but the update is still not out yet. Might be a timing issue, it should definitely unlock - especially when it happens when you click Normal in between. I was not able to reproduce the screen update bug on the first go, but I'll try again on a Linux machine (the game source is identical to Windows though).
